La Marca DOC Prosecco

Prosecco used to be the name of the grape that produced Prosecco. Then, in 2009, it was renamed glera to avoid confusion and to firmly establish the Prosecco DOC and DOCG. In order to be called Prosecco, the wine must contain at least 85% of glera. Sparkling or spumante Prosecco, the bubbles are produced through the charmat method introduced inside a pressurized stainless steel tank. This is unlike Champagne and Franciacorta where their bubbles are created through a secondary fermentation inside the bottle. Bright, light green straw. Lively on the nose and palate. Granny Smith apples, Nashi pears, grapefruit, complete with a hint of young honey. A good thirst quencher with a pinch of sweetness on the finish. Medium-bodied, this Italian sparkler will pair very nicely with finger foods, sushi, tempura, and dim sum.
