Borgogno Langhe Era Ora Riesling 2018
Riesling from Piedmont? Wine not? Good things come to those who wait. “Era Ora” can be translated as “About Time” or “It was Time”. Is it because Borgogno traces its origins 260 years back to 1761 and the first vintage of Era Ora was only 2012? Or, because Riesling was only accorded Langhe AOC in 2011? Either or both, wine lovers can be nothing but grateful. Floral, lime/lemon (becoming Granny Smith when less cold), minerally, and a hint of petrol. Fresh but not racy. Bone dry. The palate profile is something between an Aussie Clare Valley and a German Rheingau. Insatiable!!
