This inaugural competition is the newest addition to The Tasting Alliance, parent organization of the world-renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition, San Francisco International Wine Competition, and New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, founded by internationally acclaimed wine and spirits authority Anthony Dias Blue.

CH’NG Poh Tiong, Director of Judging of The Singapore World Spirits Competition

The Director of Judging of The Singapore World Spirits Competition is CH’NG Poh Tiong, who first visited Jarnac and Cognac in 1985 and, following that, Scotland. In 2012, he was made a Keeper of the Quaich. Ch’ng is a columnist for, and contributor to, the United Kingdom’s The World of Fine Wine and also contributes to Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book. He has been writing the oldest, continuous column in China for Aussino WineLife magazine since 2008 and is Bordeaux Correspondent of FINE Wine & Champagne India.

Ch’ng Poh Tiong is a Vice-Chairman of Decanter Asia Wine Awards and a Regional Chair of Decanter World Wine Awards. He is a judge of The World of Fine Wine’s Best Wine Lists in the World Competition, and Chairman of KEC – Koshu Expert Committee – of Japan. He has been wine consultant to NTUC FairPrice and Finest – Singapore’s largest supermarket chain – for the last 20 years.
