Most Complex White


This is the most complex white in the world as far as composition is concerned. Mas de Daumas Gassac White is usually produced from 20 varieties: petit manseng, viognier, chardonnay, chenin blanc, courbu, muscat ottonel, muscat petit grain, muscat d’alexandrie, gros manseng, semillon, neherleschol, petite arvine, amigne, sercial, khondorni, tchilar, albarino, falanghina, fiano and grechetto todi. The yield for the 2019 is exceedingly low, just 18 hectolitres per hectare! The main reason was rain during the vegetative cycle was just 178 ml, half the normal precipitation. What has finally ended up in the bottle is a wine of incredible concentration. And impressive length.
