Chateau Boutisse Promoted

Marc Milhade assumed responsibility (from his father Xavier) the winemaking of Chateau Boutisse in 2005, a milestone vintage we will be savouring Friday 3 November 2023

Chateau Boutisse

This Friday 3 November 2023, I shall be collecting Marc Milhade from Changi Airport.

The Frenchman will be arriving from Cebu.

Fingers crossed I can get Marc to Famous Treasure at the famously appointed time of 7.15 for dinner.

On more certain ground, Chateau Boutisse was promoted from Grand Cru to Grand Cru Classé in the latest Saint-Emilion Classification of 2022.

Marc’s father Xavier had purchase Boutisse back in 1996 and made the wine until 2005 when he passed the reins to Marc.

Participants will be extra lucky as the Frenchman squirreled from their cellars bottles of this milestone vintage exclusively for this Friday 3 November.

“Not to Be Missed” best describes the dinner.

I have only known the Milhade Family about 10 years but have watched them build success upon success not just at Boutisse but their other wines including Chateau Recougne, a Bordeaux Superieur, not far from Libourne on the Right Bank, which they had acquired back in 1938.

In fact, I stayed and slept very well at Recougne several years ago.

Friday 3 November 2023, I expect to drink and eat very well.
