I had bought this last Thursday 27 February 2020 at Carrefour Bio in front of Gare de Lyon for €30.40. An organic bubbly, it is comprised of 80% pinot meunier and 20% pinot noir. As such, it is a Blanc de Noirs. Depending on the batch, the dosage of Cuvée Resérve is between 6 and 12 g/l. The wine is aged on lees for more than 4 years, above the legal requirement of even vintage champagne which is 3 years. A grower producer, Champagne Christophe Lefevre is based in Bonneil in the Marne Valley. Bright gold with a hint of bronze. Aromatic. Ripe quince, aged apple cider and cooked orange peel. Fruity and with freshness. Round and mouth-filling. A winey champagne. Impossible to put down.
