Cancellations

Last Friday 28 February 2020, my Air France flight back to Singapore was 50% full.

The AF flight to Hong Kong was even more sparse. It had 79 passengers for a plane that can carry 381 seats. Air France is expected to announce the suspension of flights to Hong Kong soon.

If you had booked tickets to Andrea Bocelli’s concert in Paris on 19 March 2020, the show will now almost certainly be cancelled.

This is because on Saturday 29 February 2020, the French Government announced a ban of all in-door gatherings of more than 5,000 people.

Charles de Gaulle Airport, Terminal 2E, on Friday 28 February 2020 about 1800 hrs.

Singapore Changi Airport, Terminal 3, on Saturday 29 February around 1630 hrs.

Separately, the following have also been cancelled or postponed:

ProWein Dusseldorf 15 to 17 March 2020

Also cancelled was the Venice Carnival last month.

Vinexpo Hong Kong is due 26 to 28 May 2020.

There is no official announcement so far from the organizer concerning the status of the show. If it were to go ahead, visitors from China were be doubtful. So too other visitors as they will/may face quarantine when they return home if they were to visit. Rumours concerning Vinexpo Hong Kong 2020 are already spreading, including that it could be cancelled, postponed, or moved to Singapore.

All of the above do not even take into considerations all the exhibitions cancelled in China since February 2020.
