Grand Frais is a chain in France that has vegetables – including mustard green – most other supermarkets do not carry. Some seafood too including particularly fresh scallops when the shellfish is in season. They have a nice selection of mozzarella and burrata too. Last January, I chanced on this from Cave d’Aze, a cooperative in the Maconnais, that is making a particularly fine Chardonnay. Granny Smith/Golden Delicious appley/minerally fruit that reminds more of northernmost Burgundian Chablis than Macon Blanc from southern Burgundy. Unoaked, pure, pristine, drive and energy.
