WELCOME TO EDITION 836 of GRAPEVINE
Greetings from Lorgues in the south of France.
Last Saturday, I bought a new coffee machine – €99 – at Carrefour.
I decided on the model not just because it was the cheapest but because I don’t need all those other options and silly buttons.
After all, what I really want is to make a strong expresso for the morning café latte.
The producer actually goes out of the way to inform the machine delivers a 15-bar shot. Most of all those more expensive brands don’t even bother telling us the pressure of the jet of water it emits.
Last Saturday, weather wise, it was so blustery the force snapped the wooden pole of the parasol.
I believe it happened in the middle of the night when I was sleeping.
Fortunately, the high wind was not strong enough to uproot the cenotaph– a former tree – which is one of my favourite features of the house.
Wishing you A Very Good Week Ahead.
