CH’NG Poh Tiong
HOUSE OF TIDES – www.houseoftides.co.uk/ – was opened in February 2014 by Kenny & Abbie Atkinson. Located on the historical Newcastle Quayside in England, the beautifully restored stone building is a Grade 1 listed 16th Century former merchant town house.
Set over two floors, House of Tides is a casual, informal fine dining restaurant and boasts 1 Michelin star. Ground level is more of a bar while first floor houses the main restaurant which includes a big open fireplace and views over the River Tyne.
Kenny Atkinson has been a chef for over 20 years. Born in Newcastle, he spent the first 12 years of his career training in some of the best restaurants in the United Kingdom. The chef has become a well-known face on television from his appearance on BBC 2’s The Great British Menu which he won in 2009 and 2010.
