Geyer Hof Hoher Rain Gruner Veltliner Kremstal 2019

The estate in the little village of Oberfucha in Kremstal, Austria, has origins going back almost 800 years. Since 1988, the 23-hectare vineyard and 27 hectares of arable land have been farmed organically.  Just as in the past, hedgerows, cattle, pigs, chickens and bees are part of the estate’s idea of holistic harming. Diversity over monoculture, the vines as a smaller part of a larger whole. As for the 2019 vintage of Hoher Rain, it ticks all the boxes. Fruit, texture, and freshness. Unoaked, the unrestrained fruit is tropical, peachy, and has a pinch of white pepper. Creamy and taut in the same sip.
