Spirit of the Week • Talisker Storm

Light Pu-erh/bright chrysanthemum tea colour. Aromatic. The smouldering smokiness is embellished by  peaty/heathery notes. There is also a hint of the sweetness – and burst of fire – to follow. This no-age statement single malt is just the right dram for a cold night. About full-bodied, it also makes for a wonderful pairing with many Sichuan, Thai and Indian dishes. 45.8% alcohol. This Highland single malt is from the Isle of Skye. Talisker was the favourite whisky of Robert Louis Stevenson, author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped.
