Mainlander Dirk Chen is Hotel Sommelier of China World Summit Wing Beijing, in charge of the whole wine/spirit program of the hotel. Chen’s work includes purchasing and management, client service, staff training, inventory and special wine/spirit events.

Prior to joining China World Summit Wing Beijing, Chen was Head Sommelier of Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and had also worked as Sommelier in two Michelin starred restaurants within that hotel including one associated with Pierre Gagnaire.

Before joining Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, Dirk Chen was Assistant Sommelier in the Peninsula Hong Kong, where he started his career as Management Trainee focusing on Food & Beverage and Sales & Marketing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and also has an Advanced Sommelier Certificate from the Court of Master Sommelier, where he is currently a candidate for Master Sommelier.
