Prince Robert of Luxembourg Joins PFV

Welcome to EDITION 716 of GRAPEVINE

Prince Robert of Luxembourg and his family-owned  Domaine Clarence Dillon  have joined Primum Familiae Vini. With his participation, the group now has 12 members.

‘My family and I are truly honoured and thrilled to be included in such a prestigious organisation that shares our values and our long-term commitments to the world of fine wine. Sharing and transmitting excellence in everything that we do, seems to be the very foundation on which this august institution was built. We very much look forward to contributing to the PFV’s continuing and growing success.

‘I am very touched by the warm welcome that has been extended to me and to my family by so many of the existing members of PFV. I look forward to learning from my fellow members as we toast all of those fine wine drinkers who inspire us in our work every day and encourage us through our shared passion for excellence in wine,’ Prince Robert commented.

Prince Robert represents the fourth generation of the Dillon family’s dedication to fine wine.

Domaine Clarence Dillon are the owners of three iconic vineyards in Bordeaux, Chateau Haut- Brion, Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion and Chateau Quintus. Under Prince Robert’s leadership, the family company have more recently created the premium Bordeaux brand Clarendelle; the fine wine shop La Cave du Chateau and the 2 Michelin star restaurant Le Clarence in Paris; and Bordeaux’s fine wine merchant, Clarence Dillon Wines.

Prince Robert is a founding member, board member and President of the Cultural Committee of La Cite du Vin in Bordeaux, the world’s premier institution for celebrating the heritage and culture of wine.

PFV was created to celebrate the special contribution wine families have made over time to some of the world’s greatest wine regions. The 12 member families believe that the sharing of generations of experience between them is of great value in sustaining their vineyards, and that this extends especially to the younger generation. PFV organises tastings and dinners around the world to spread the important values that family-owned wineries bring to the world of wine.

The 12 members of PFV are Marchesi Antinori, Joseph Drouhin, Egon Muller Scharzhof, Famille Hugel, Familia Torres, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Famille Perrin, Tempos Vega Sicilia, Tenuta San Guido, Symington Family Estates, Pol Roger and, now, Domaine Clarence Dillon.

Wishing you A Very Good Weekend.
