Dinner on 1 March 2021
Tomorrow night, Wednesday 3 February 2021, is our third and final Chateau Petrus 1996 Dinner.
Last night’s event was at No Menu, the Italian restaurant at 23 Boon Tat Street in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District.
The food was delicious including the Burrata with Sicilian Tomatoes and aged Parma Ham, Homemade Tagliatelle with Black Truffe, Confit Duck in Orange Sauce, and Australia Rib-Eye.
Another Bordeaux of the 1996 vintage I served was the white Domaine de Chevalier.
Prior to that, Champagne Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque 2002 showed supremely with the pasta.
Another show stopper was Walter Massa’s Derthona Timoraso 2018.
This ancient Piedmontese variety was light gold in colour, unoaked, and swamped with rich pineappley fruit. Aged on its lees in tank before being bottled, the abundant fruitiness was sealed assuredly by screwcap.
Our next dinner will be Monday 1 March 2021.

The highlight wine will be Chateau Cheval Blanc 1996. Ex-cellar of course.
