MOST EXCLUSIVE HOTEL IN THE WORLD

Le Grand Controle is the most exclusive hotel in the whole of France and, possibly, the world.

There are only 14 rooms and suites.

Set in the Palace of Versailles.

This cultural symbol of France began as a hunting lodge in 1623.

Built by Louis XIII, successive kings of France – Louis XIV, XV, and XVI – added to the original lodge until Versailles became a beacon of magnificence envied around the world.

Le Grand Controle – the building – was constructed in 1681 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the favourite architect of Louis XIV.

The building is an icon of French classicism and had played host to Europe’s political and cultural elite. Ambassadors, artists, musicians, writers and scientists of the Enlightenment have passed through its doors.

Guests of Le Grand Controle will have access to the 800 hectares of gardens of Versailes and will be accorded a private tour of the palace. They will also be be able to visit the Orangery Garden and the Lake of the Swiss Guards. And dine at the Alain Ducasse restaurant. Or/and pamper their nerves at  the Valmont Spa.
