The oldest pits to ferment this pure sorghum baijiu dates back to 1573. The cellars are even older, hence the reference in the brand to “laojiao” or “old/ancient cellar”. Luzhou is in Sichuan Province. Guojiao is Strong or Nong aroma, this category being the most popular in China and commanding about 75% of all baijiu production. Guojiao is aromatic, including Turkish delight, star anise, and ripe Nashi pear. Full-bodied and rich, it is also glycerol in texture. Serve this chilled straight from an ice bucket.
