Gaillac is situated between Toulouse, Albi and Montauban. The name of the town is also the appellation of the wine which includes white, rosé, red and sweet. Wine has been made here for almost 2,000 years. There are local varieties but also international expressions. Chateau Clement – into its seven generations – has 150 years of grape history. Produced from syrah and merlot, the juicy, plummy plum fruit has equal easy tannins to make this such an accessible wine. A bit more freshness would give the wine better backbone. Enjoyable on its own and with food, particularly stews, casseroles, and meat.
