100 Years at Chateau Talbot

Welcome to EDITION 720 of GRAPEVINE

Greetings from having left London yesterday.

I was in the English capital to speak at pre-opening dinners for the media for the Imperial Treasure Group which has just opened its first restaurant in Europe.

I don’t normally get asked to do something like that but I have been a customer of the restaurants of Alfred Leung for more than 30 years – still am – and we have become friends in that time.

Whilst there, I took the opportunityto also catch up with old and to meet new friends.

So, last Tuesday 4 December 2018, I had lunch with Steven Spurrier and Nancy Gilchrist MW.

I am presently in Bordeaux for a tasting put on by Nancy Bignon-Cordier.

The occasion is to mark the 100 years of Chateau Talbot having been under the ownership of her family. In 1917, Désiré Cordier purchased the St-Julien estate.

Today, representing the fourth generation, his great-granddaughter Nancy Bignon-Cordier is in charge of the legacy.

We will bring you highlights of the tasting next week.

Meanwhile, we are including some photos of the welcome dinner last night.

Wishing you A Very Good Weekend.
