Singapore Goes to the Polls

Singapore holds its General Elections 3 May 2025.

I am in England for work because next Tuesday 6 May is the official start of Decanter World Wine Awards 2025.

Since its founding by Sarah Kemp and Steven Spurrier (1941 – 2021) in 2004, I have been Asia Regional Chair.

In the last 22 years, I have witnessed the explosion of entries from merely having to judge just half a day of all Asian entries, to a full 5-day week of judging (sometimes with two panels on one same day).

Although I am not able to vote because I am away, I will be glued to results of the elections.

I am preparing to celebrate with or be consoled by champagne because as Napoleon said:

“Champagne, in victory I deserve it, in defeat I need it!”
