Royal Salute • Created for a Woman

Royal Salute was created exactly 70 years ago on 2 June 1953

A dedication is also an inspiration.

The Royal Salute is such an inspiration. Created as a dedication.

The blended Scotch whisky was launched 70 years ago on 2 June 1953 to honour Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her coronation.

The fact the inaugural Royal Salute was 21 years is no co-incident either.

Twenty-one years for the ceremonial 21-gun salute fired from the Tower of London to mark special royal occasions. Hence, Royal Salute.

Since its launch exactly 70 years ago, Royal Salute has always been a minimum 21 years. There is perhaps no other whisky brand that can claim such a demanding entry-level age statement.

The United Kingdom kicks off four days of celebration starting today to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

Both 96-year old sovereign and 70-year old spirit have thrived and prospered. Royal Salute is also unique in that it is a whisky created for a queen, and now, Britain and the world’s longest-serving woman monarch.
