Mouton Unveils Moutis

When you next purchase a 3- or 6-bottle or 3-magnum case of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, you will find something new in it.

‘Principles of elegance, refinement, innovation and craftsmanship have guided and inspired us to create this lovely piece of fabric which protects the treasures it covers,’ revealed Proprietor Philippe Sereys de Rothschild.

‘A unique item made in France from 100% recycled organic cotton, our people baptised it “Moutis”, a contraction of Mouton and boutis, a quilted and sometimes embroidered fabric of Provencal origin which prides itself on being part of France’s intangible cultural heritage.’

Mouton’s initiative replaces the traditional tissue paper wrapping and the Moutis has the effect of “raising the curtain on the labels and bottles within”.
