Founded almost 400 years ago in 1625, Champagne Henri Giraud is particularly liked for its oaky, woody bubblies. Fortunately, this is not the case with Esprit Nature. “Nature” here does not refer to the wine being without dosage. Instead, it speaks of the spirit of the house being devoted to nature. The dosage of Esprit is between 6 and 12 g/l, keeping it within Brut. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, the blend is 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay. Stone fruit, ripe citrus and a rich minerality. The freshness is round and not acidic. About full-bodied, Esprit Nature is delicious as an aperitif and with tempura and Cantonese dim sum.
