Rose Honey • Variety Eradicated in France
Allofme Red 2018 is a blend of Rose Honey and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Originally cultivated in France, Rose Honey was eradicated when phylloxera swept across Europe in the 1860s. Paradoxically, it is still grown in Yunnan.
French missionaries had introduced Rose Honey to China. They were cultivated to make into wine for the communion. Rose Honey grown in China are, therefore, French vines that had escaped the phylloxera scourge!
