Gustave Lorentz is one of the most respected names in Alsace.
The family is a household name in the Grand Cru village of Bergheim where it was founded almost 200 years ago in 1836.
The esteemed producer and winegrower owns 33 hectares on the hillsides of Berghem. Of the estate, 12.8 hectares are Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim and 1.75 hectares Grand Cru Kanzlerberg. Both were classified as Grand Crus in 1983.
Earlier this year, Gustave Lorentz Vielles Vignes Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim 2019 scooped a coveted Best in Show top prize in Decanter World Wine Awards 2023.
Altenberg de Bergheim, in full summer splendour, was classified Grand Cru in 1983

On dinner Wednesday 27 September 2023, we will be serving the 2017 vintage of this world-class Riesling – and three other Gustave Lorentz wines.
The venue is i12 Katong SO GOOD, the popular Char Chan Tang chain.
However, whereas you order your dishes via a teleprompter at other SO GOOD outlets, i12 Katong SO GOOD is a full-fleged restaurant. We will be in a private room of just two tables.
Apart from the four Alsace wines, there will be another four Malt Whiskies from one of the most highly respected independent blenders and bottlers in Scotland.
Chairman Fred Laing & daughter Cara, Director of Whisky of Douglas Laing & Co

Perhaps the most famous offering is their Remarkable Regional Malts range.
We will be savouring four of them:
