Vintage champagne from Champagne Lanson wear the gold label. This is particularly appropriate for 2005 as it was a hot, sunny, ripe, rich vintage. Comprising about half and half pinot noir and chardonnay – exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards – Gold
Label Lanson have to also spend a minimum five years on lees in the bottle. Impressive attack on the palate. Very much like a wine. Nutty, dried orange peel, a dash of spice, and a hint of a dry cider. Richness, intensity, andpersistence of fruit. Very dry, firm, and with a bite of acidity on the finish. Full-bodied. Serve in a round glass, including Burgundy-shape or a Cognac balloon. And not too cold.
