Graham’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port

An outstanding Port deserves an equal story. Next year, Graham’s will be celebrating its 200th Anniversary. The family that will be doing the honours will be the Symingtons, whose ancestor Andrew James Symington first arrived in Portugal in 1882 – at 19 years young – and worked for a while at Graham’s. Full circle for a fulsome Port. A Tawny is a unique wine. Graham’s 20 Years Old Tawny resonates with fruit and energy. There is a dried Chinese sour prune that encapsulates so very neatly the personality of the fruit. Complex sweet and sour, the palate is very fresh. Time and evolution has not tamed the brightness and vitality of the fruit. Served between cool and cold, it was delicious on its own and outstanding with the Cantonese roast suckling pig.
