Paris to Reims in 45 Minutes

Champagne is just 45 minutes away.

If you are going from Paris to Champagne, catch the TGV from Gare de l’Est.

Forty-five minutes later, you will be in Reims where many of the major houses are located, including Louis Roederer, Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Charles Heidsieck, and Krug.

Gare de l’Est is both a metro station and one of the largest train stations in Paris.

Onboard the train, you will also enjoy complimentary high-speed internet connection.

Make sure you have the e-ticket on you because you will need information from that to connect.

The train ticket can be bought via the internet.

At one time, SNCF did not accept American Express.

A longer time before that, SNCF did not even issue e-tickets and you had to take the credit card – with which you pay for the ticket online – to a train station in France to print out the ticket!

That all seems a generation ago.

The station has shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Reims is the largest city of Champagne.

But, a little while back, it was still confusing booking a ticket from Paris to Reims.

This was because there were two stations with the mention of “Reims”: Reims Ardenne and Reims Centre.

Reims Ardenne was the station before Reims Centre.

Now, to avoid confusion, the stations are called:

•  Champagne-Ardenne
•  Reims
