The ExciseMan Wine & Whisky Bar exudes atmosphere aplenty.

 The warm lighting is enhanced by lush British Chesterfield leather sofas, the sumptuous bar, friendly service and, just now, two glittering Christmas trees.

Unit 27 on Level 2 of the Esplanade Mall, better known as “The Durian”, The Exciseman Wine & Whisky Bar is the brainchild of Lewis Mitchell, a whisky afficionado par excellence.

‘For whisky lovers, we aspire to make recommendations that suit our customers’ taste, and offer whiskies regardless of brand, age statements, awards, rarity or price. Our wine and whisky bar is designed for those who prefer a quiet and comfortable setting with classic music from the 50s, 60s and 70s played at a convivial volume that allows conversation. In essence, it’s a perfect place to catch up with friends and meet for business.’

The ExciseMan is the brainchild of Lewis Mitchell

The ExciseMan does not only offer wine and whisky.

‘We are also proud of our selection of other spirits that include: Brandy, Cognac, Armagnac, Gin, Vodka, Tequila, Grappa, Vermouth, Aperitif, Liqueurs, Rum and Agricole Rhum.  As we source most of our wines and spirits from our sister company Le Vigne – an import and retail establishment since 2002 – we are able to keep our cost down and offer double shots at only one and a half times that of single shots.’

The ExciseMan Wine & Whisky Bar is opened from 4 to 10.30 pm this whole week except Christmas Day and Sunday. It is open the whole of next week – including New Year 1 January – but will be closed Sunday 3 January 2021.
