Chateau Brane-Cantenac 2009

This Margaux estate was one of 15 Second Growths in the 1855 Médoc Classification. Purchased in 1833 by Baron Hector de Brane (owner – at the time – also of Chateau Brane-Mouton which later became Mouton-Rothschild), today’s proprietor is Henri Lurton. Feminine wines of great finesse are produced here. Although 2009 is a rich vintage, Brane-Cantenac remains elegant, keeping its DNA. Very ripe and juicy deep blue/purple/black fruit. Suave velvety tannins. The freshness is impressive for what is a very hot, scorched vintage. Medium-plus bodied and very balanced.
