Champagne Duval-Leroy Femme de Champagne 2000

The prestige cuvée or top wine of the house, Femme de Champagne was first launched with the 1990 vintage. It is now produced in both a vintage and non-vintage version. Femme de Champagne 2000 is a blend of 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir. The emphasis is on Chardonnay which comes from the Grand Cru villages of Chouilly, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil. The harvest took place in mid-September. The wine will continue to evolve but is delicious now. Creamy in texture, full-bodied rich, ripe appley/citrus spiced fruit that hangs on the palate long after you have sipped this outstanding wine.
