The top highlight of Just Wine Club Private Wine Fair on 28 August 2021 has got to be First Growth Chateau Mouton-Rothchild and Super Second Growth Chateau Leoville Las Cases of the sensational 2009 vintage, considered one of the greatest in the last 30 years.
Members will find it hard to resist the knock-down prices for the Pauillac and St-Julien respectively, especially when they search the world wide web and discover how much more they have to pay elsewhere.
Incidentally, the 2009 label of Mouton is by Mumbai-born British sculptor and artist Anish Kapoor. 
Other great buys include Baron de Brane 2014, the Second Wine of Second Growth Chateau Brane Cantenac. Both are favourites of many aficionados who know they are getting exceptional value-for-money for two of the best-kept secrets of the commune of Margaux. What’s more, the 2014 vintage is drinking exceptionally now.
Another great buy of the same vintage is Chateau d’Issan 2014. One of the oldest properties of Bordeaux, wine has been made here for a thousand years. Although known by a different name at the time, Chateau d’Issan was served at the royal wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henri II in 1152.
The wines of Bordeaux are the biggest draw in every Just Wine Club Private Wine Fair.
Bordeaux is not only about great estates of the 1855 Classification of the Médoc, outside the ranking, she also produces delicious wines of more humble pedigree.
One such is Chateau Mauvesin Barton, owned by the same illustrious family who are proprietors of Super Second Growth Leoville Barton and Third Growth Langoa Barton. Situated in the commune of Moulis, Chateau Mauvesin Barton 2015 is of an exceptional vintage and very approachable now. Even so, you should decant it 15 to 30 minutes to get the best out of this red Bordeaux. At $42, it represents crazy value.
