Can You Drink After Vaccination?

YES.

The answer applies to Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, the first two approved by America’s Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or CDC.

In the first place, research carried out on the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines did not require trial participants to avoid alcohol. Their findings also did not mention people having issues after drinking.

There is no evidence that alcohol reduces the formation of antibodies,” says Richard Watkins MD, an infectious disease physician and a professor of internal medicine at the Northeast Ohio Medical University .

Dr Watkins, however, recommends watching one’s alcohol intake in the days after getting vaccinated for a different reason.

“Some people may experience flu-like side effects such as a fever, chills, fatigue, and headache and being intoxicated or hungover will make things less pleasant.”
