Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux is a pure Sauvignon Blanc.
It was a hundred years ago, in 1920, that Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux first appeared as the name of the white wine. Prior to that, it was called Chateau Margaux Vin Blanc de Sauvignon. A white wine has been produced at Chateau Margaux since 1710.
The 11-hectare vineyard is located on one of the estate’s historic plots of land. The selection is severe as no more than half of the grapes make it to become Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux.
Delicious when young, the pure Sauvignon Blanc is capable of ageing, continuing to evolve, becoming more complex while retaining layers, richness, and freshness with time.
To celebrate the centenary of Pavillon Blanc, a special bottle has been created to mark the occasion. Also, for the first time in its history, Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux will be sealed with wax. The midnight blue colour is to match that of the label.
The years 1920 and 2020 are ingeniously interlaced. With the occasion of the centenary commemorated in French.
