Welcome to EDITION 727 of GRAPEVINE
Next Monday 18 to 27 February 2019, there will be no postings on our
websites.
Instead, I will be writing on the following social platforms:
The platforms are managed for me by our Sales & Marketing Manager Ms YU Kayan, who also translates them into Chinese when they appear in Chinese.
I confess that although I have been writing on social media, I do not see what I have written and, therefore, am not able to reply to anyone who writes back to me via social media.
I prefer instead to engage people via email at wine@thewinereview.com.sg.
I realise that social media is pervasive in the age we live in.
It also takes up so much time.
So, a long time ago, I made the decision to write on social media but not to interact on the medium so that I still have time to read, play sports, listen to music, and indulge in other personal pursuits.
Chateau du Tertre is charged with freshness.
Last night, in anticipation of staying there this coming Sunday, I had Chateau du Tertre 2007, incidentally the previous Year of the Pig.
I had gently double-decanted the Fifth Growth Margaux back into the bottle an hour prior to having it at dinner.
I prefer lighter to more full-bodied wines much as I like people who speak softly rather than those who prefer to raise their voices.
Du Tertre 2007 has entered its secondary evolution and still possesses vitality. The ripe-ish capsicum fruit has a whiff of sandalwood. Medium-bodied, the charged freshness is delicious.
Wishing you A Very Good Weekend.
