CH’NG Poh Tiong
Chivas Gold Signature 18 Years Old is a blended scotch. There is, therefore, grain whisky but also single malts from over 20 distilleries throughout Scotland. Bright light gold, the warm organoleptic profile gives way to a soft sweetness. There’s also heather, vanilla, orange peel, and a gentle smokiness. Very smooth, creamy and seductively textural. An excellent aperitif but is a bit light for after dinner. 40% alcohol. I visited Strathisla distillery – home of Chivas Regal – in Keith, Moray in Speyside, about 20 years ago and can attest to the generosity of Scottish hospitality. Chivas Regal is owned by French drinks giant Pernod Ricard.
