Founded by Michel de Bustros (1929 – 2016), Chateau Kefraya is – after Chateau Musar – Lebanon’s second most-famous wine. Situated in the Bekaa Valley, the first vines were planted in 1951. From 1979, like a Bordeaux chateau or Burgundy domaine, Kefraya started producing wine from grapes grown on its estate. The blend of Les Breteches is comprised of cinsaut, cabernet sauvignon, grenache and carignan. Fully evolved. A whiff of soya sauce and sandalwood. Plums and dried Chinese prunes. Light, smooth tannins. Medium-bodied and fresh. Drink up.
