Champagne Alain Couvreur Blanc de Noirs Brut

This grower producer is located in Prouilly in the Marne. Alain Couvreur had founded the house in 1961 but the family had grown grapes and made barrels in the Massif de Saint-Thierry in the Vesle Valley – west of Reims – for five generations. Today, the Champagne House is represented by seventh-generation David and Remi Couvreur.  Bright light gold. Very ripe and very fruity. Pineapples, star anise, cloves with a shade of nuttiness. Full-bodied. Comprised principally of pinot noir. Enjoyed at Osteria Caffe Monte Baldo, a must-visit in Verona. www.osteriamontebaldo.com/
